On-Line Backup:
Summary of Benefits
Improved Data Security
- Servers and databases are automatically backed up to off-site data storage facilities. Unlike tape-based backup, this method does not rely on manual procedures, which are subject to human error or omission
- The information is triple-secured, with two separate off-site locations, i.e. there is backup to your backup
- The data is encrypted so that it remains confidential, even to the service provider
- Concurrent multiple backup and restores are permitted
Faster Data and Disaster Recovery
- The backup system is fully monitored, so any problems are immediately flagged
- The data is available on-line at all times (secure; permission-based), at the click of a button
- There is no risk that the restore will not work due to incomplete or missing backup data, as often happens with tape-based backup
- If the data has to be restored following a disaster that has caused damage to or loss of your systems, the disaster recovery time is greatly reduced, compared with any other backup method. Data can even be delivered to your site on pre-configured NAS devices
Costs
- The cost compares favourably with the real cost of tape-based backup (tapes, backup h/w and s/w, labour costs, off-site storage costs)
- This is a fully-scalable, “pay-as-you-use” service, so you will never again incur costly capital expenditure for new back-up h/w or s/w
Express Server Restore Option
If you subscribe to our On-Line Backup service, you also have the option of having replacement servers delivered to your premises, with configurations and data fully restored, within hours of invoking the Rescue IT service.
